Earn from Rural Tourism
Members of the Association for Exploration and Travel OFF ROAD MACEDONIA – Bitola (Mitko Krstevski and Pargovski Jove) from 20-22 December 2017 attended the seminar “Earn from Rural Tourism”, implemented by the Local Development Agency – Struga as part of the project “Future Perspectives through Mountain Tourism” implemented by GIZ – (German Society for International Cooperation) in the period from August to December 2017.
The goal of this training was to motivate the participants to think toward entrepreneurship, to begin to recognize the opportunities in their place of residence, and to learn how to commercialize them and offer them on the market. Participants learned how to develop a business plan for their ideas and to present it to the audience. The training lasted for three days, and covered the following topics:
- Rural Catering
- Food and Drinks
- Entrepreneurship in rural environments
The members of our association from this training returned with new knowledge in many areas, new contacts and future opportunities for cooperation with individuals and other associations and companies from Macedonia.
The training courses and workshops were held in Hotel Alpina and the restaurant Korab Trnitsa.

– Walk through Mavrovo to the submerged church of St. Nicholas, before the start of the training – December 20, 2017
The temple St. Nicholas was built by the population of Mavrovo in 1856 and was flooded with the building of Mavrovo artificial accumulation in 1956.
Although over 150 years old and much of the year submerged in water, the quality of the building of this temple and the mastery of its builders is clearly visible today. Apart from the damage to the roof and the belfry, which is built later, no other serious damage is found on the base.
